We had such a great time having my nieces Lexi and Jenna up to visit. Went and did a lot of fun things.
I'm so glad I have the chance to get to know my nieces better. I know I loved spending my summers with cousins and getting to know my Aunt better. I hope they loved there time with me as much as I loved having them.

Saturday there was a Easter Egg Hunt at the community center in our Student Housing complex. We were supposed to be there 10:00 a.m. sharp.
We got there at 10:01 and pretty much all the eggs were gone. :0)
Maxwell didn't seem to mind. He found about 5 and was happy. He was going around shaking them and showing people what he found. It was cute! I do miss being with family on Easter but it is nice to have these kinds of things in our Family Housing complex.

I watched my friends daughter the other day and when I walked in the room I found them watching The Little Mermaid together. Thought it was pretty cute. Although I have to point out that Cody hates the fact that Maxwell has been choosing The Little Mermaid to watch.

We had such a great time while in Utah and was able to enjoy some snow too. It went almost to Max's waist. Maxwell was spoiled with all the toys he got and tried to take the other kids toys too.
We took Max to his fist movie and saw Tangled (very cute). He didn't take his eyes off the screen. It was pretty funny and about half way through it he fell asleep, but at least we know now he does well in the movie theater.

Of course all good things must come to an end but very thankful we got to see all of our family.

Maxwell got his first Tricycle. He loves it so much! My good friend gave it to us and I thought about saving it for Christmas but the second he saw me load it up in the car he wanted to ride it so we gave it a test run and he sits on it every chance he gets. Just another thing that makes me realize my baby is growing up to fast. But it's fun to see how excited he is about it.

Forgot about posting our pumpkins that we carved on Halloween. So sad that they didn't last very long! We put them out on Halloween and the next morning they were gone.

Max had a lot of fun with the pumpkins though. He kept trying to blow on them thinking they were HOT!

Maxwell was the cutest Hamburger for Halloween. I was so sad that I wasn't able to get more pictures though. I made sure I had my camera ready and the batteries died when I went to take his picture. Thank heavens for friends! They all offered to take some pictures for me and I am so happy to have a few of Maxwells first trick or treat.
He was so cute when we took him around to each car in the parking lot. He discovered really fast that people gave him candy when he walked up to there trunk. By the end he was RUNNING from car to car holding out his hand. When we would tell him to stop or slow down he would scream NO and keep running. I'm giggling right now as I type this thinking about the scene. It was such a fun night and we got a lot "Nice costumes! Are you crayons?"

So thanks to my friend Michelle I have discovered a joy for cooking. OK let me rephrase that. I still don't enjoy it but it's a lot easier for me. I just needed to get organized and she told me about The Food Nanny. She has this great cook book that has very easy recipes and you can go to her web site thefoodnanny.org and print out your blank menu for the week and your blank shopping list. So I'm hoping for the best with cooking. I think my biggest problem wasn't I can't cook it was just I don't know what to cook.

This was the apple pie that I made when Mom and Dad were here visiting. I have to say it was pretty tasty.

Camping 2010...

I had to laugh when I saw this and thought my hair is on fire. I'm still not used to the new look!

I always say I need to take more pictures when we go places but I never remember to take more pictures. Well yet again I didn't take more pictures on our little camping trip this weekend. We had a great time with our ward friends and love this camp ground. It's owned by the church so it's really nice and has a sweet spirit there. There is a really nice river you can swim in if you dare. The water is very cold! I didn't see Cody much since he was fishing on it the whole time. Caught one fish but let it go didn't think it was big enough. He is very devoted to fishing with not much success most of the time. :0(
This was our second time camping there this summer and I am sad not to get more pics but 3 is better than 0. We just about froze our butts off, at least mine sure felt like a frozen turkey that night. It got down to 40 but we had a great time and have some good memories now.

Max turned 2 on the 5th of Aug. We didn't really do much since I went all out for his first birthday but it was still a nice day. He had a ball with his balloons and I think he liked the present we got him. A four wheeler which he pretty much just sat on but he really liked the horn. Thanks so much to Grandma's and Grandpa's and Lexi sweetie for the birthday gifts. He loves them all very much.

Day at the lake....

So in Utah going to the Lake always involved a long car ride and making a whole day of it. Well up here in Washington you have Lakes and Beaches every where and so many to choose from. My friend Carlina and I took the kids to a little place called Marthas Lake right off a busy street about 5 miles from our apartment. I still can't get over the fact that you can drive 10 minutes in almost any direction and find a beach. It seems like most people don't go to the swimming pool up here they go to one of the parks with a lake or the ocean (although the ocean water is always cold). A lot of fun and I couldn't believe Maxwell went in almost waist deep. He hasn't been much of a lover of water so this was a great improvement.

Memorial day...

We had a really great Memorial day! We drove up with 2 other couples and there kids to a charming Bavarian town up in the mountains. The town was called Leavenworth and was very beautiful! The buildings looked like a little village in Germany. We had some yummy bratwurst and even had a little bit of sunshine. I forgot my camera again but Cody got a few pics from his phone of us visiting a petting farm up there. Such a great day and a really pretty drive.

My friend Lisa came up this weekend to visit. We had a lot of fun seeing the sites in Seattle. It was a great Mothers Day for me since it was a GIRLS day out. Left the boys at home! I did feel a little guilty at the end of the day when I realized that I only thought about them once the whole time. I guess that's what Mothers day is for right. It's our official day off. Well we had a lot of fun and I even treated myself to some yummy chocolate. The next day we went to the Japanese Gardens and the pictures don't do justice to how pretty is was.

I tend to get bored of my workouts really fast and so lately I have been looking for something new. Well it's not new but it's always a goodie. (and a good laugh)
Thanks to my sis Dani (who introduced me when I was around 10) I always remember her working out to Gilad's Bodies in Motion. I and my other sisters worked out to him for years on ESPN. I have found him again on Netflix and I forgot how much I loved it. Cody gets a kick out of the tecno music and always laughs when I do the workouts and sees the girls in tights. Sure is a fun blast from the past.

It was great to be able to go to Utah and visit family. Always feels like I never left. But I didn't realize how much I missed Cody until we landed at the airport and was greeted with a big hug and kiss.
When we got home I was pleasantly surprised to see that he had gotten me flowers and the house was CLEAN. He is such a sweetie! He even decorated the vase by putting a ribbon on it and remembered how much I love lilies.
I guess he does have a romantic bone in there somewhere. It was a nice welcome home!

It was a beautiful day to go to the park. We found this Park/Farm down in Redmond WA. Really pretty area and so much fun! It was a state park and the farm was there for people to visit. We laughed that we had more fun than Maxwell. Nice way to spend a sunny day.

We had such a great time with our family night out. We found cheap tickets and drove down to Tacoma to there Zoo lights. Not a lot of animals out at night but Max sure enjoyed the aquarium. It was such a good time and really fun lights. We even prayed it would stop raining by the time we got there and it did. Happy night!

I just love decorating for Christmas so much. I think I got it from Mom, because I can't wait to get the tree up and feel festive. The apartment seems so cheery. We had to put the tree up high so Max wouldn't get to it but he manages the bottom branches. There just plastic balls which is good but my OCD comes out when he takes them off the tree and throws them across the room.
I love how it turned out this year thanks to my cheap friends at Walmart and Dollar store.

We ventured out and found this fun little beach called Marina beach. The strange thing is you feel like your at a lake rather than the ocean. It's a fun place though. You can see the ferry's go by and people sailing.

Well it turned out to be a really nice day. Even if Maxwell was sick. He got rosiola (I'm not sure how that is spelled) but he was a sick little boy with a very high fever. He still enjoyed having lot's of attention on him. It was a challenge to make his cake but I was determined to make one. Thank heavens for sisters! Debbie came down and helped me with the cake and Lexi was a sweetie helping with Max. We were pretty happy with his Baby Einstein cake (it took using a drill) even though it fell apart after the cake thawed out. I am so glad we got the pictures!
I know that if Max had been feeling better he would have been squealing because when he did feel better I would show him the Baby Einstein pics and he would laugh and scream at them. Thanks to everyone and the Grandmas and Grandpas who came to celebrate Max's big day.

We had a great time with Cody's Family down by Fish Lake back in June. It was a nice way of camping too. We got to sleep in the 5th wheel with Cody's Grandparents and even got a shower. Cody, his Dad, his bro, and Grandpa went fishing almost the whole time and had really great success. We ate a lot of fish! I think that makes up for all the bad luck fishing that Cody has had in the past. Thanks to Cody's parents and grandparents for such a great weekend.

We had a fun day out. Cody, Max, Dad, and I went up to Hill Air Force and went through the museum. Lots and lots of planes and jets. It was pretty cool day and something fun to do for free.

Family Reunion...

We had our Family Reunion this last weekend and it was a great time. It was a staycation Reunion this year instead of our annual Bear lake trip. We watched a movie out side on the projector and snuggled in blankets. The weather didn't cooperate with us much on the day that we went to Yuba lake but we made the best of it and the kids still got in the freezing cold water. We had a day of Family Olympics and did our own 5k run. We were all sore the next day from it but we had a great time. It was so fun to get together and always sad when it ends.

Graduation from the U...

Cody graduated on Friday from the U of U with a Bachelor's in Physics and Math. It was a nice day and I am glad he walked even though he didn't want to. It was pretty cool he received an honors award and got to sit on the stand with all the professors. He doesn't know what to do with himself now, he's abit lost without deadlines of homework over his head and such. He's going to work over the summer tell we move to Seattle so that will keep him a little bit busy. For now he says life feels good.

Well the wait is over and the verdict is in and we are heading to University of Washington in Seattle. I think I am still in abit of shock about moving but I think it will be a great adventure. I know that Cody is way happy about going he really wanted this school. I thought at least were on the west coast and its only 11 hours to drive to Utah. We don't leave until the end of August so at least we will have the summer to spend with family. We will be in Seattle for about four years and then who knows where we may end up after that. But for now we are happy and relieved.

Disneyland is Magical...

So we had an amazing opportunity to go to Disneyland with Cody's family a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful time. We also had a big surprise with Maxwell. It seemed to be that we had a different child with us when we were there. He was so good and happy the whole time. I guess there is something to be said about the Magic of Disneyland. It even affects babies. So I wasn't so great about the picture taking part but my Mother in law was so I am going to get some pic's from her and I will post them when I get them.

Happy Birthday to my honey. He turned 25. Wow he is so old!!! hahaha I wish I was turning 25 that seems like a long time ago. Well I had to put his cake on here because I realized as I was making his cake that it is the FIRST cake that I have ever made. Pretty sad to admit that I am 33 and had never made a cake. It turned out pretty good too. Cody is a big Reece's peanut butter cup fan so I found this great recipe for a peanut butter cup cake. VERY RICH! You need a glass of milk for this one but even I liked it and I don't like peanut butter.

What a great year 2008 was! It flew by but we had some wonderful things come of it. Of course the obvious is Maxwell. What a miracle he is. Now that were into 2009 there will be some very big things to come. Cody's going to be graduating in the spring and we will be moving to who knows were for graduate school. It's down to 6 schools. San Diego, Washington (Seattle), Cornell (New York), Yale, Wisconsin, and Utah. We will find out in the spring were we end up.
Scary step in life but what an adventure.
We watched the U sugar bowl game the other night and what a great game. 13 and 0. Go Utes. Haha It's so great to be a U fan.
Of course when your husband attends the U it helps a lot.
I hope this year goes great for everyone and you succeed in your New Year's resolutions. I all ready have if you read my quote. :0)

Twilight craze...

Just wanted to give a little shout out for the Twilight movie. I saw it on Thanksgiving weekend and loved it. They did a great job in following the book and Edward was pretty cute. Although I think the guy who plays Edwards dad was way hotter. If your a Twilight fan and you haven't seen it yet I think your going to love it too.

Well I am so excited for the Christmas season to be here. I look forward to decorating and being with family. It will be a lot of fun to help Mom decorate this year. Will be moving in to there house in a couple of weeks and they seem really excited for it. At least I hope there are. We are also excited to celebrate Christmas with Maxwell this year. Christmas is so much fun with kids. Even though he's only 4 months old I'm sure he will still get spoiled.

I havn't been able to update my blog in so long but I thought better late than never on all the things that have happened this month.
So we woke up to snow the morning of Mawell's blessing. Crazy!!! He was blessd on Oct 12th. We had a great day with all the family. Cody's family was able to make it up from Southern Utah and both sets of his Grandparents were able to come. We enjoyed visiting with everyone. And had some good eats ofcourse. What would a mormon function be without food.

Maxwell is now 12 pounds 4 ounces. He's eating potatoes and gravy on one boob and ice cream on the other. I think he's starting to get over the crying thing at night. Maybe its all that fat making him happy. That or the fact that Cody walks around with him in his car seat so he wont cry. What ever it is my sanity might make it in tact. We are having alot of fun seeing the changes in him. It's so true what I have been told. They grow up to fast!

Oh boy! When we brought Maxwell home we thought we had the perfect baby. Two weeks later he found his lungs. Now like clockwork 7:00 p.m. comes around and we have a very unhappy baby. Thats also about the time that Cody gets home from school and takes over. It is so great! Cody will walk around with him and talk to him and he stops crying. He gets this look on his face like he knows what Cody is saying. It's too cute. With nursing, I am realizing that I can't eat ANYTHING without him getting an upset tummy. Hey maybe I can loose some weight that way. HA HA Thats what Debbie told me how her friend got thin. One can wish.

So long to 15 years...

Well I did it! I retired my scissors at the salon. It was a hard decision and a sad day to clean out my station at the salon but yet it felt right. I have a new chapter in my life now. I know that I will always be doing a little bit of hair but going back to work is probably in the past. At least while Maxwell and if were blessed with other kids are still little. But this is something I have wanted for a long time. I remember when I was 18 and I was starting work at my first salon. At the time I thought "OK I have my career now! I'm ready to get married and have kids" Ha Ha little did I know that it would take 12 years a mission and a lot a men before that would happen. I am really so happy that my life didn't turn out the way I thought it should. Especially with work. I have met some really great people and made some wonderful friends along the way. I have met some really different people too. We always joked in the salon that us stylists should go back to school and get our degree in Psychology . Then we could charge double. You wouldn't believe some of the things people will tell you. But it's great. I have had some great laughs. But I am sure there will be lots of laughs in the future as a Mom. Life is good and I look forward to this new chapter.

I Dream of sleep

Everyone told me that its a big adjustment when you have a baby and to be prepared for no sleep. Well trying to be the optimist and yet being very naive thought it can't be that hard to adjust. haha
OK so living on 4 to 5 hours of sleep every day is hard but like everyone says you get used to it. And you cry a lot.
Being a new mom is really amazing. I look at Maxwell after three weeks of having him and I still go holy cow is he really mine. This isn't a nephew I can just give back.
Cody has been such a big help. I don't know what I would do without him. Like getting up at four in the morning and cleaning up poo that our sweet boy has blasted clear across the room and on the wall. OK it wasn't clear across the room but it was at least four feet and it was on the wall oh and all up my arm. Like father like son.
I am very blessed with to awesome men in my life and I am so grateful for them.
